Recent data from the Slovenian General Police Directorate highlights broader trends regarding impaired driving. In 2025, alcohol or drugs were factors in accidents that caused 31 deaths, representing one-third of all road fatalities in the country. Statistics indicate that alcohol-related incidents peak during the summer and in December, driven by an increase in social gatherings. In August, police recorded 160 incidents involving intoxicated drivers, the highest monthly total, while December saw 149 such drivers identified.
