Incidents involving vehicle collisions have been reported on the A14 motorway in Italy. In late August, a multi-vehicle collision involving four cars occurred on the northbound overtaking lane near San Benedetto del Tronto. The accident resulted in two individuals sustaining minor injuries. In late September, a fatal incident occurred near Bologna. A 45-year-old Moldovan worker, identified as Ruslan Railean, was killed on Saturday, September 26, while performing maintenance on a railway bridge. bridge near the Navile district. The victim was working in a lane that had been closed to traffic and was reportedly properly marked with signage and LED screens. A 54-year-old Italian man from Modena, driving a Citroen Picasso, entered the construction area and struck Railean. Although the driver stopped to provide assistance, the worker died shortly after being transported to the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna. Following the accident, the driver underwent an alcohol test which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 2.10 g/l. g/l, more than four times the legal limit. The driver has been arrested and is currently under investigation for road homicide as authorities review surveillance footage and witness testimonies.
