A 21-year-old driver was arrested in Vrilissia, Greece, following an incident on Pentelis Avenue. Authorities acted after video footage circulated showing a vehicle speeding through a red light during the early morning of September 4, 2026. The footage reportedly showed the vehicle nearly striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk, while a passenger leaned out of the window and a third individual gestured toward the pedestrian. Following an investigation by the Attica Traffic Directorate, the driver was apprehended and charged with dangerous driving. On September 5, reports indicated that the driver and a passenger, who was seen leaning out of the vehicle window, were taken before a prosecutor. In separate incidents of dangerous driving, a 41-year-old motorcyclist was arrested in Athens after a pursuit involving 16 consecutive traffic violations, including seven red light infractions and nine instances of driving against the flow of traffic on one-way streets. The individual faces criminal charges and fines totaling 5,975 euros. Additionally, in Lamia, an intoxicated driver caused a head-on collision and struck several parked vehicles after driving erratically; the driver sustained head injuries during the crash.
