In late July 2026, the American pop-rock band Train announced the upcoming release of its twelfth studio album, ‘Mad Dog in the Fog’, scheduled for August 28. Lead vocalist Pat Monahan stated the record serves as a tribute to the band’s origins, with the title referencing a historic San Francisco bar where the group first performed. The 12-song collection marks the group’s first full-length project includes singles since 2022’s ‘AM Gold’. The album’s title honors a historic neighborhood bar in San Francisco’s Lower Haight district; Monahan noted that the venue’s owner, Cyril Hackett, was an early supporter of the band. Lyrically, the album reflects Monahan’s personal journey from Erie, Pennsylvania, to Los Angeles and San Francisco. This trajectory is reflected in tracks such as ‘Pennsylvania Turnpike’ and ‘City of Angels’. Other notable songs include ‘To Gloria’, ‘The Weekend’, ‘Pennsylvania Turnpike’, and the title track. ‘Tired of Looking Down’. To mark the release, the band held a special block party concert in San Francisco. The group is also continuing its ‘Drops of Jupiter: 25 Years in The Atmosphere’ tour, and a physical LP release is expected in November 2026.
