The truffle season in Italy’s Marche region has commenced, supported by new infrastructure and seasonal festivals. In Acqualagna, preparations are underway for the inauguration of a modernized, year-round Truffle Market funded by the Marche Region. This multipurpose facility is intended to serve as a permanent hub for culinary traditions and will host the 61st International White Truffle Fair in late 2026. Simultaneously, the harvesting season for the White Truffle began on October 1st in Pergola, where the 29th International Truffle Fair is scheduled for the first three Sundays of October. In Apecchio, the 44th Truffle Market Exhibition has also opened. Local officials have noted that the season serves as a vital economic driver, with early market indicators showing high quality and prices reaching approximately 1,800 euros per kilogram. As the season progresses, market activity has expanded across other Italian regions. In Pergola, early reports for the 2026 season now estimate prices between 2,000 and 3,500 euros per kilogram. In Sant'Agata Feltria, the 42nd National White Truffle Fair has opened with over 160 stands, while Colliano is preparing for its 29th National Truffle Market, focusing on the Black Truffle of Colliano. In the Piedmont region, authorities have introduced a subsidy program exceeding 300,000 euros to preserve productive truffle-bearing plants, aiming to support biodiversity and economic stability in areas such as Langhe and Monferrato during the peak season.
