Tucumán is positioning itself as a regional leader in the knowledge economy, ranking first in the Northwest Argentina (NOA) region and fifth nationally. During the third Expocon conference, Economy and Production Minister Daniel Abad reported that the sector contributes approximately $800 million annually to the province and supports nearly 3,000 direct jobs, a figure expected to grow through remote work. To support this growth and diversify the local productive matrix, the provincial government is pursuing several initiatives. These include a legislative proposal to create private industrial parks with tax benefits for developers and companies, as well as collaboration with the Federal Investment Council (CFI) to establish a guarantee fund. This fund aims to provide businesses with access to preferential credit rates to improve cash flow for local entrepreneurs. As of the first half of 2026, Argentina’s national knowledge-based exports have surpassed $10 billion. Within this national context, Tucumán maintains its established role, contributing its annual $800 million to the broader expansion of the country’s knowledge-based services sector.
