Turkey and Saudi Arabia diplomatic and educational relations
Overview
Turkey and Saudi Arabia have expanded bilateral cooperation through new agreements in education and travel. In late October, the two nations signed a memorandum of understanding in Ankara to enhance educational ties. This agreement focuses on teacher and student exchanges, joint research, professional development, and the mutual recognition of educational qualifications. It also includes cooperation in special education, distance learning, and the teaching of Turkish and Arabic.
Following this, a new agreement regarding visa exemptions for diplomatic and special (green) passport holders was established. Effective November 6, this measure allows holders of these passport types to travel between the two countries without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180 day period, covering entry, exit, and transit.
