Turkey has expanded its scientific research and scholarship initiatives through the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The TENMAK Research Scholarship Program increased its quota from 300 to 500 students and expanded its supported fields from 28 to 38, covering areas such as energy, nuclear technology, mining, and advanced materials. Under the program, eligible undergraduate students who ranked within the top 100,000 in the 2025 or 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) can receive a monthly stipend of 13,750 Turkish lira. Recipients also receive academic mentorship from TENMAK staff. To maintain eligibility, students must meet specific grade point average requirements. As of September 2026, the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mining Research Agency (TENMAK) has opened applications for its Domestic Undergraduate Success Scholarship Program. The initiative supports 500 students enrolled in 41 designated undergraduate programs, including fields such as boron, rare earth elements, and advanced materials. For students transitioning from their first to second year, a minimum grade point average of 2.50/4.00 or 65/100 is required. Applications are being accepted through the official TENMAK portal until September 15 at 17:00. Additionally, the TÜBİTAK International Leader Researchers and International Young Researchers Programs have selected 75 projects to receive support for research conducted in Turkey. These programs aim to strengthen national R&D capacity by supporting scholars with experience from institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford through grants for living expenses, health insurance, and travel assistance.
