As of August 2026, the total number of vehicles registered in traffic in Turkey reached 34,911,879, marking a net increase of 1,300,493 vehicles since the beginning of the year. Automobiles represent the largest segment of the fleet at 51.7%. High turnover rates, with over 917,000 vehicles changing hands in August alone, are driving increased demand for professional maintenance and service technologies. Ahmet Kaşka, founder of ELCİ Elektronik Klima, noted that the growing vehicle park creates significant opportunities for local service technologies, leading to the introduction of specialized solutions like the RTC 3 for heating and cooling system maintenance. In the rental and leasing sector, the industry reached a fleet size of approximately 412,000 vehicles during the first nine months of 2026. Total investments for this period amounted to approximately 253 billion TL, split between the daily rental sector (162.7 billion TL) and operational leasing (90.3 billion TL). TOKKDER Chairman Özarslan Tangün stated the industry acts as a key driver in the transition from ownership to a usage-based economy. Concurrently, the Turkish Ministry of Treasury and Finance reported a 21 percent reduction in the number of leased public vehicles renewed under recent savings measures. For the 2026 central government budget, 3,666 vehicles have been allocated across various public administrations, including ambulances, defense, and justice services.
