By mid‑2026 Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry had inspected nearly 8 million vehicles at 320 stations, classifying faults and emphasising inspections as a tool for safety and emissions reduction. In July 2026 the ministry signed a 20‑year concession (2027‑2047) with the newly created private operator TURKA, a partnership of the Ministry of Interior and OGG.
