In mid-September 2026, the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) held an aviation festival at Selçuk Efes Airport in İzmir. The event included parachute demonstrations, aerobatic displays, and model aircraft activities intended to promote aviation interest. During the festival, instructors performed high-altitude jumps featuring a large Turkish flag and a poster of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Following the İzmir event, the 11th SHG Airshow took place at the Sivrihisar Aviation ~~Center. This~~ Center Necati Artan Facilities in Eskişehir. The two-day event ~~featured historical aircraft replicas, such as the Vecihi XIV and Nu. D. 36, alongside performances by~~ celebrated Turkish aviation history through various aerobatic performances. Key highlights included Semin Öztürk Şener, Turkey’s first professional female aerobatic pilot, ~~Semin Öztürk Şener.~~ flying her aircraft ‘Yeni Menekşe’. The airshow also featured historical tributes, including Lee Vecihi Maxson, grandson of Vecihi Hürkuş, performing in a replica aircraft named ‘Vecihi 14’. Descendants of aviation pioneers Nuri Demirağ and Vecihi Hürkuş were in attendance to witness the flight of replica aircraft, such as the Nu. D-36. The event concluded with a ~~high-speed acrobatic display~~ grand finale by the ~~national~~ Türk Yıldızları (Turkish Stars) aerobatic team, ~~Türk Yıldızları.~~ which flew in from the Konya 3rd Main Jet Base to perform synchronized maneuvers.
