Turkish contracting companies have achieved significant international growth, with Trade Minister Ömer Bolat reporting a total project volume of $570 billion across 139 countries since 1972. Of this amount, $520 billion was generated within the last 23 years through approximately 12,900 global projects. The sector’s presence in global rankings has also expanded. While 48 Turkish companies were initially included in the Engineering News-Record (ENR) list of the world’s top 250 international contractors for 2026, that number rose to 49 following the addition of Doğuş İnşaat. Doğuş İnşaat moved to 165th place in the updated rankings, up from 208th in 2025. Expanding on the sector's performance, Minister Bolat noted that 40% of the international work conducted by Turkish contractors in 2025 took place in Europe. Additionally, he announced that preparations for a bilateral public procurement agreement between Turkey and the European Union are complete, with technical negotiations expected to commence soon.
