The Turkish television industry is preparing several new series for the upcoming season. Production has commenced on ‘Güneşin Doğduğu Yer’, a Tims&B Productions series for the ATV network starring Burak Özçivit as Kenan Kozan. The plot follows Kenan, a young heir to a powerful family in Çukurova, as he navigates conflicts between family expectations and his love for Leyla, played by Beyza Gümülcine. The cast also includes Sibel Taşçıoğlu as Kenan’s mother, Celadet, who opposes the relationship, as well as Görkem Sevindik and Hilal Anay. Directed by Çağrı Vila Lostuvalı and Çiğdem Bozali, the series was originally intended to debut on September 10, 2026, but has been delayed by one week due to set preparations and editing processes. It is now scheduled to air on ATV on Thursday, September 17, 2026. New details regarding the narrative reveal that the story begins during the fall of the Berlin Wall, where Leyla, a woman of German and Turkish descent, meets Kenan. Their romance starts in Berlin before moving to Adana in the 1990s. The plot explores Leyla’s personal struggles regarding her Turkish heritage and her father’s abandonment, alongside the conflict between Kenan’s family responsibilities and his love for Leyla. In addition to this production, CNP Film is preparing to release ‘Sevdan Bir Ateş’ in September. Starring Murat Ünalmış and Özge Özacar, the series is set in Cappadocia and focuses on themes of revenge, family secrets, and the enduring love between characters Mirza and Leyla.
