The Turkish tourism sector is undergoing expansion through new luxury developments and strategic regional planning. In Bodrum, upcoming high-end projects include the NG Sign Hotel, expected in 2027, and the Bulgari Resort & Mansions, scheduled for 2028. Recent developments in Bodrum include the environmental impact assessment (EIA) approval for a 1.26 billion TL tourism project by RAMS Bodrum Turizm Yatırımları A. Ş. in the Torba neighborhood. This 46,400 square meter development will feature 35 blocks with a capacity of 185 rooms and 300 beds, alongside various social facilities. Additionally, Marmara Marine Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd Şti has proposed a 55.3 million TL boat manufacturing and maintenance facility in İçmeler. This project, located within the Gökova North Coasts Important Nature Area, faces environmental scrutiny regarding the proximity of Posidonia oceanica seagrass beds, which the report notes must be ‘especially protected’ to avoid risks like mass fish deaths. Industry stakeholders continue to address logistical needs to maintain competitiveness. In Bodrum, Muğla MP Yakup Otgöz met with representatives from the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) and the Bodrum Hoteliers Association (BODER) to discuss preserving the district’s strength through optimized flight planning and improved transportation. The maritime sector is also being highlighted through events such as the second annual Bodrum Boat Show at Bodrum Harbor. Featuring 210 vessels and 100 exhibition stands, the show is a collaboration between the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping and the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, aimed at strengthening Bodrum’s brand and boosting local employment and international economic ties. In Bursa, İbrahim Burkay of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) is pushing to increase the average length of visitor stays, which currently remains below two days, by utilizing attraction centers like the Gökmen Aerospace and Space Education Center (GUHEM) to foster year-round tourism.
