Turkmenistan independence anniversary celebrations

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the People's Council of Turkmenistan to discuss socio-economic development and celebrate the 35th anniversary of the nation's independence. During his address, the President highlighted strategic frameworks such as the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2052 and the President's Program for 2022–2028, alongside initiatives to improve living conditions in regional centers through 2028.

Following the address, the People's Council issued a congratulatory message to President Berdimuhamedov. The message honored the nation's sovereignty and stability, noting the historical significance of the 1991 declaration of independence and its role in fostering national prosperity and peace.

As celebrations for the 35th anniversary continue, cultural festivities and diplomatic exchanges have taken place. A celebratory concert featuring national artists was held at the Mejlisler Center in the capital, attended by President Berdimuhamedov.

International leaders have also sent congratulatory messages. Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed pride in Turkmenistan’s achievements and emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between China and Turkmenistan, noting a commitment to developing a “community with a shared future.” Additionally, messages noted the historical significance of the United States being among the first nations to recognize Turkmenistan’s political independence.
