TV Brasil is broadcasting the musical reality show ‘Duelo de Guitarras’, which showcases various guitarists through different musical genres. Recent participants include Gabi Terra, a musician from the psychedelic indie scene known for her project ‘My Magical Glowing Lens’. Terra has competed in genres such as blues and heavy metal. Following her, veteran guitarist Lui Rabello, formerly of the ‘Altas Horas’ band for 16 years, participated in the competition. The Bahia-born musician has competed against younger artists, noting that the experience has pushed her out of her comfort zone and provided “new energy”. Rabello has performed styles including bossa nova, jazz, baião, and xote. The competition continues with Rio de Janeiro-based guitarist Roger Oliveira. Having played for 25 years, Oliveira began his musical journey at age 15 playing acoustic guitar in a church, later transitioning to electric guitar influenced by a Dire Straits album. His participation includes duels in classic rock, xote, baião, bossa nova, and jazz, as well as a performance alongside veteran musician Victor Biglione. ~~Oliveira also specializes in guitar maintenance and repair.~~ As the competition progresses toward its conclusion, 29-year-old guitarist Lucas Moscardini, also known as ‘Mosca’, has emerged as a finalist.
