Egypt and Morocco have qualified for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana following the conclusion of the UNAF qualifying tournament in Ismailia, Egypt. Egypt secured the top position in the regional standings after a 2-0 victory over Algeria. This result allowed Egypt to overtake Morocco in the rankings. Morocco finished the tournament in second place after a 3-2 loss to Libya, though they had already guaranteed their qualification following a prior 2-0 win against Egypt. The loss resulted in Algeria missing the continental finals, marking their absence from the tournament since 2013. Algeria finished the competition with four points, placing third in the group. Hany Abou Rida, Chairman of the Egyptian Football Association, congratulated the Egyptian youth national team on their championship win, describing the achievement as a significant step toward long-term goals of competing for the African title and qualifying for the World Cup.
