UAE startup and innovation ecosystem development

Overview

The United Arab Emirates is expanding its support for the startup and innovation ecosystem through new partnerships and investment initiatives.

In late September, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) and the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) signed a memorandum of understanding to create a two-way referral system. This collaboration aims to connect high-growth startups with institutional capital and federal assistance, bridging federal and Dubai-level innovation ecosystems.

By October, the UAE’s Future 100 initiative reported attracting $100 million in investments, benefiting over 53 companies. The program, a joint effort between the Ministry of Economy and Tourism and the Government Development and the Future Office, expanded its network to 42 partners following the addition of Nuwa Capital, Global Ventures, and Carta.
