The UCF and USF collegiate soccer rivalry, known as the ‘War on I-4’, has seen recent activity in both women’s and men’s programs. In women’s soccer, UCF secured a 2-0 victory over South Florida at Corbett Stadium. Tyra Eriksen and Naomi Clark scored in the first half to secure the win, moving UCF to a 3-0-0 season record while USF fell to 0-3-0. UCF also scheduled a matchup against UAB at the UCF Soccer Complex. In men’s soccer, UCF recently defeated USF 2-0 in Orlando. Takahiro Fujita scored in the 28th minute, and Kenn Muendo added a second goal in the 77th minute. This victory marked UCF’s first win over the Bulls since 2021 and extended the Knights’ unbeaten streak to three matches, all of which resulted in shutouts. UCF goalkeeper Alexis Martin recorded seven saves during the win. By starting the season with three consecutive clean sheets, UCF became only the second program in school history to achieve such a feat and joined a group of only six Division I men’s programs to not concede a goal through their first three contests of the fall season. Following their victory over USF, the UCF men’s team is preparing to host No. 16 Clemson. Meanwhile, the South Florida Bulls, holding a 1-2-0 record, are set to host UNF in Tampa.
