A delegation from the Groningen and Drenthe regions of the Netherlands presented a bid to the International Cycling Union (UCI) in Montréal to host the 2032 UCI Road World Championships. Organizers anticipate approximately 500,000 visitors and a global television audience of 250 million people. While 20 million euros from the Nij Begun recovery program has been earmarked for the Dutch hosting, total costs for the event are estimated at 30 million euros.
