The professional cycling WorldTour season moved to Canada for the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec and the Grand Prix de Montréal. These races were positioned as critical preparation for the UCI Road World Championships scheduled for later in the month in Montreal. Initial reports noted that the absence of Tadej Pogačar due to injury altered the competitive landscape, shifting focus toward contenders such as Remco Evenepoel, Tom Pidcock, and Mathieu van der Poel. On September 11, Remco Evenepoel won the 14th edition of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec. Riding for Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, Evenepoel secured the victory following an attack approximately 25 to 30 kilometers before the finish line, ultimately winning the final sprint against Italy’s Giulio Ciccone. In the 15th edition of the race, Evenepoel again secured victory by attacking with approximately 28 to 30 kilometers remaining during the 206-kilometer course. He won a two-man sprint against Giulio Ciccone of Lidl-Trek, while Denmark’s Anthon Charmig finished third. Other notable finishers included Tom Pidcock in fourth and Quinn Simmons in fifth. The event also saw Juan Ayuso suffer a crash in the chasing group.
