Students finishing classes at 1:00 PM have faced wait times of up to an hour, potentially delaying their arrival home by ninety minutes. Some students are considering requesting daily early dismissal permits to access earlier bus routes. Regional authorities, school officials, and Arriva Udine have scheduled a meeting to address the situation. Luca Gervasutti, regional president of the National Association of Principals, characterized the situation as a “rodaggio” (testing) phase and suggested solutions such as adjusting bus schedules or allowing students to leave school slightly earlier to align with available transport. Recent developments have seen parents organizing protests against these delays. Families commuting toward Fagagna and San Daniele del Friuli report waiting up to 55 minutes for buses to cover distances of only 15 to 20 kilometers. Protesters are demanding either the restoration of previous schedules or the addition of new trips from the Centro studi to mitigate overcrowding and excessive wait times, particularly as winter approaches.
