UE Tavernes de la Valldigna qualified for the Copa del Rei for the first time in its history after defeating UD Maracena in a penalty shootout. The club was scheduled to face Valencia CF in a single-match round between October 27 and 29. Following the qualification, the venue for the match was changed. While UE Tavernes originally intended to host the game at their municipal field—even exploring the addition of temporary seating to increase capacity from 1,800 to 5,000—the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) determined the site did not meet necessary requirements. Consequently, the match was moved to Mestalla Stadium and scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 21:00, with Valencia CF playing as the visiting team. In preparation for the fixture, UE Tavernes announced the return of coach Edu Palomares following the dismissal of Carlos Sapiña. Palomares, who previously led the club for three seasons, will lead the team in the match at Mestalla. Ticket sales for the match are scheduled to begin on October 21, with physical sales occurring at club facilities and online sales managed through the Valencia CF official website. To support fans, the club and local authorities are organizing free bus services for players, families, members, and supporters traveling to the game.
