Balkan football clubs continue their UEFA Conference League campaigns. Crvena zvezda recently played to a 2-2 draw against FC Copenhagen at the Rajko Mitić Stadium. Despite goals from Timi Maks Elšnik and a long-range strike by Vasilije Kostov, the Serbian side could not secure a victory following an own goal by Matej Gaštarov and a late red card for Nemanja Gudelj. Coach Albert Riera noted that while the team creates numerous opportunities, they must improve their clinical finishing to convert chances into wins. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, FK Borac Banja Luka ~~has~~ secured their first points of the group stage following a 2-0 victory over the Finnish side KuPS at Gradski Stadium. Stefan Savić opened the scoring in the 29th minute via a deflection, and Matej Deket doubled the lead in the 50th minute after being played through by Luka Juričić. Borac dominated much of the match, recording 26 shots, and moves to 14th position in the table. This result follows Borac’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Panathinaikos in their opening match. The victory over KuPS provides a significant financial boost for Borac; under UEFA’s 2026/27 distribution system, the club has already secured at least 4.27 million euros, with this specific win adding an additional 400,000 euros. Furthermore, the win contributes 0.500 points to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s national coefficient, moving the country to 34th place in the UEFA rankings. Borac now prepares for an away match against Mjällby in Sweden on November 5. Meanwhile, KuPS remains in the competition despite their loss to Borac and a previous 4-2 defeat to Trabzonspor.
