Uganda tourism marketing partnership with Champions Hockey_e

Overview

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), supported by the Embassy of Uganda in Switzerland, has entered into a one-year sponsorship deal with the Swiss-based Champions Hockey League (CHL) for the 2026-27 season.

Under the ‘Explore Uganda’ branding, the partnership will utilize stadium advertising, television broadcasts, and social media to promote the country’s wildlife, landscapes, and cultural experiences to the CHL fanbase. The initiative specifically targets European markets, such as Switzerland, to increase international arrivals and promote Uganda’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

This marketing effort is part of Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Strategy, which seeks to expand the national economy to $500 billion by 2040 and reach $5 billion in tourism revenue by the 2028/29 financial year.
