On 10 July 2026 Michael Stewart (57) and Anthony Stewart (60) were sentenced at the Old Bailey to life imprisonment, with minimum terms of 10 and 15 years, for the 1984 killing of 45‑year‑old civil servant Anthony Littler in East Finchley, London. Littler was attacked on 1 May 1984 while walking from the East Finchley underground ~~station,~~ station; he suffered severe head injuries and died in ~~hospital;~~ hospital, while his wallet, watch and other belongings were left ~~at the scene and nothing was taken.
