UK electric vehicle charging infrastructure expansion
Overview
Electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is expanding across the United Kingdom through various commercial partnerships.
RAW Charging has launched a new hub at Bentley Bridge Leisure Park in Wolverhampton, featuring 4 AC bays and 18 DC rapid and ultra-rapid bays. This is part of a £24.5 million partnership with Landsec to install 1,000 bays across 28 UK retail and leisure destinations. RAW Charging is also deploying an £11 million ultra-rapid network at B&Q trade locations.
In a separate development, Roadchef has partnered with bp pulse to expand charging capabilities at motorway service areas. Beginning in 2027, bp pulse will install ultra-fast chargers at more than 30 Roadchef locations as part of a strategy to reach 1,000 EV charging bays by 2030.
