Various United Kingdom universities and foundations have announced scholarship and funding opportunities for upcoming academic cycles. Initial announcements included the University of Sussex offering Commonwealth PhD Scholarships for September 2027 entry, targeting students from low-income or fragile states. Additionally, Leeds University Business School introduced PhD Excellence Scholarships for the 2026-27 session, covering academic fees and maintenance grants for researchers in the Marketing Department. Regarding the 2027/28 academic year, the University of Edinburgh’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program offers fully funded postgraduate scholarships for African students aged 35 or under. The University of East Anglia continues to provide diverse undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD scholarships, including the Vice Chancellor’s Global Impact and Leadership Scholarship, the UEA-CSC PhD Studentships, and the 60th Anniversary Scholarship. Further postgraduate opportunities for 2027 include the Martingale Foundation Scholarship, which provides full tuition, research funding, and a tax-free living stipend for talented students from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds. The Martingale program also includes professional development opportunities to assist scholars in building academic and industry connections. Additionally, the Marshall Scholarship remains available for United States citizens, with citizens. New developments include the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls 2026. Funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the British government funding up to 50 scholars annually to pursue Master’s or PhD Council, this program provides fully funded bachelor’s and master’s degrees at HEC-recognised universities in Pakistan. It targets women facing financial, social, or geographical barriers, and the application deadline has been extended to strengthen transatlantic relations. 15 September 2026.
