The University Clinical Center (UKC) Tuzla has completed the first phase of a reconstruction and modernization project for its Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics. Supported by a 600,000 KM investment from the Government of Tuzla Canton, the initial stage covered approximately 700 square meters. Improvements to the facility include renovated postpartum wards, new patient rooms, and apartments with private bathrooms. Technical upgrades involved replacing the electrical network, flooring, internal joinery, and radiators, alongside the installation of an uninterruptible power supply and the establishment of a new open delivery room space. The facility, which manages roughly 3,000 births annually, intends to proceed with two additional phases to complete the total reconstruction, specifically targeting the newborn unit and the delivery room. The completion of this first phase is noted as part of broader regional healthcare and infrastructure developments occurring across the Balkans.
