Following the Latvian parliamentary elections, the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) failed to secure seats in the 15th Saeima. Initial exit polls suggested the party might receive approximately 3.7% of the vote, which would fall below the 5% threshold required for parliamentary entry. At that stage, party leadership expressed cautious optimism, noting that official results often exceeded exit polls. Final results confirmed the party’s exclusion from parliament, with ZZS receiving 4.401 percent of the vote. This outcome has raised concerns among local officials regarding the loss of regional representation, particularly in areas like the Gulbene municipality. Analysts representation and political critics was attributed the decline by critics to a loss of political identity identity. In the aftermath, Economy Minister Viktors Valainis announced his intention to remain in politics. Speaking on the TV3 program ‘900 sekundes’, Valainis stated that leaving at this moment would not be a ‘responsible action’ and expressed a failure commitment to fulfill key campaign promises. representing the more than 30,000 voters who supported the ZZS. He indicated he intends to continue his duties as Economy Minister until a new government is confirmed. Additionally, the Latvian Farmers' Union (LZS) has begun preparations for a congress, scheduled for late January or early February. This process, which includes regional conferences and branch meetings, is expected to result in new leadership for both the LZS and ZZS.
