In July 2026, Universal Studios Japan promoted the 15th anniversary of its Halloween Horror Night with a new commercial starring Takumi Kitamura. The ad highlighted a “Street Zombie” theme, a zombie‑dance show, a Halloween Horror Night Academy showcase, and a Resident Evil‑themed ride, and announced the event’s run from 11 September to 8 November. Two days later the park detailed an all‑night, eight-hour Halloween Horror Night on 25 September, marking both the park’s 25th anniversary and the event’s 15th year. The night will feature special shows, zombie performances, and stage productions, with tickets sold on a first‑come, first‑served basis. A new R‑18 attraction called “Zan’you (Residual)” was also introduced, requiring a pledge and age verification, and priced separately with optional express‑pass bundles. In August, the park announced a first-time collaboration with horror manga artist Junji Ito, featuring his character “Tomie” alongside the “Street Zombies.” This includes themed merchandise like T-shirts, notebooks, and cosmetic keychains, as well as food items such as bacon cutlet burgers and character-inspired sweets. On 9 September, the event officially launched, featuring a record number of “street zombies.” Key attractions include the debut of “Zanzou,” the park’s first R-18 rated attraction, which requires guests to sign a waiver due to intense psychological horror.
