Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa student initiatives and institutional's

The Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) has implemented several initiatives aimed at student welfare and institutional management. The university launched the ‘Somos Inclusión’ program in partnership with the Culiacán City Council, utilizing workshops and adapted sports to promote empathy and inclusivity among youth. Additionally, the UAS General Directorate of Sports distributed specialized athletic equipment to the Southern Regional Unit to support over 2,000 students in various competitive and mass activation programs. Following these social and athletic developments, the university expanded its digital infrastructure by rolling out a mobile application for student monitoring across all its high schools in Sinaloa. Building on a pilot program in Mazatlán, the new system allows parents and tutors to receive real-time notifications regarding student campus entry and exit, while also providing tools to monitor academic progress, grades, and participation in cultural activities. More recently, the university has shifted focus toward institutional transformation through administrative, financial, and regulatory reengineering. These strategies are designed to address complex financial crises, such as managing pension system commitments and optimizing resource use, to ensure long-term sustainability. UAS representatives have shared these strategies with the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ) to exchange experiences regarding the financial challenges facing public universities. Parallel to these administrative reforms, UAS continues to invest in technological infrastructure. The Northern Regional Unit (URN) recently received new computer equipment intended to benefit more than 10,000 students, supporting teaching, learning, and professional development through modernized information technology.
