The Universidad Nacional de Santiago del Estero (UNSE) has introduced several initiatives to enhance professional training and regional outreach. Initially, To strengthen health science education, the university established a commitment with the National Clinical Simulation Network (ReNaSiC) to implement the Meaningful Learning Simulation Training Model (MESAS). This program focuses on strengthening includes an eight-week training period for 68 academic staff members to become facilitators, providing safe and scalable practical training for health science students in medicine, nursing, and obstetrics through an eight-week training program for academic staff. Subsequently, the university expanded its educational scope through obstetrics. Through its School for Educational Innovation (EIE), launching UNSE launched a four-month pedagogical pedagogical, administrative, and administrative normative training program for teachers seeking permanent leadership positions in primary initial, primary, and secondary education. UNSE also launched This initiative, organized with the General Council of Education, utilizes both in-person and asynchronous sessions. To improve regional accessibility, the university expanded its outreach via the ‘La UNSE abre sus puertas’ initiative initiative. Rector Marcelino Ledesma led virtual press conferences for interior towns, such as Las Termas de Río Hondo and Añatuya, to provide vocational guidance and academic information to students in remote regional communities. Looking toward 2027, the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technologies is developing two new distance-learning programs. These include a fully virtual University Technician degree in Occupational Health and Safety and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics designed as a curricular complementation cycle for non-university tertiary teachers. Dean Héctor Paz noted that these virtual offerings serve as tools for educational inclusion and regional development.
