As the 2026/27 academic year approaches, universities in Serbia and Romania are finalizing admission schedules and expanding academic offerings. In Serbia, the University of Novi Sad scheduled its second round of admissions and entrance exams for early September. In Romania, several institutions have launched autumn admission sessions to accommodate students seeking career changes or those who missed summer enrollment. Universitatea „1 Decembrie 1918” in Alba Iulia has implemented a two-stage registration process, including new dual-system courses developed in partnership with companies such as Kaufland and Lactalis. West University „Vasile Goldiș” in Arad is accepting applications for medical and non-medical fields, with specific deadlines for non-EU citizens. In Târgu Jiu, Constantin Brâncuși University (UCB) has launched its autumn session with a master’s in Health Services Management and expanded capacity for General Nursing. UCB is also advancing the ‘StartUp SOCIAL – GORJ’ project, a 36-month initiative funded by the Just Transition Fund to establish 24 social enterprises and create at least 48 jobs for vulnerable groups, youth, and people with disabilities in Gorj County. Recent updates show the University of Bucharest (UB) has announced over 5,800 available places across 20 faculties for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, following record-breaking competition during its summer session.
