University of Castilla-La Mancha research funding

In late July 2026 the University of Castilla‑La Mancha (UCLM) reported two major funding initiatives. On 24 July the university received three Beatriz Galindo research grants covering projects in physical activity and sports science, law, and chemistry, securing four‑year contracts for researchers. The same announcement highlighted the regional rural internship programme, which by then involved 500 companies and had placed 252 students in local businesses with €5 million backing to combat depopulation.

Five days later, on 29 July, UCLM opened a call for 39 new pre‑doctoral contracts funded with €5.56 million. The positions, lasting up to four years, include annual stipends and a €1,000 monthly mobility allowance for international research stays. Funding comes from a partnership between the Castilla‑La Mancha regional government and the EU’s European Social Fund Plus 2021‑2027, reinforcing the university’s strategy to attract and retain scientific talent.

Together, the announcements show a rapid expansion of UCLM’s research financing and talent‑development programmes, linking grant awards, internship support, and new doctoral contracts within a coordinated regional and European funding framework.
