Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Firesprite have announced the release of Until Dawn 2 for PlayStation 5, scheduled for January 28, 2027. Set on Akishima Island in the South Pacific, the sequel follows the Dead True crew—a group of paranormal investigators from a fake ghost-hunting show—as they encounter genuine threats. The narrative features a branching story where player decisions influence survival outcomes. To enhance character development and dialogue, Firesprite has collaborated with AdHoc Studio. While the game moves away from the original Blackwood Mountain setting, it includes a return to the Blackwood Sanatorium. The cast features new actors such as Dacre Montgomery, alongside the return of Peter Stormare as Dr. Hill. Pre-orders for ~~Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions are expected to begin~~ the title opened on September 10, 2026, via the PlayStation Store. The Standard Edition is priced at $49.99 (£44.99), while the Digital Deluxe Edition is $54.99 (£49.99). The Deluxe version includes the ‘Y2K Neon Vibes Pack’ themed costumes and a ‘Dioramas of Death’ gallery. Pre-ordering either edition grants in-game collectibles, such as Dr. Hill classic and island costumes with corresponding bobbleheads.
