Cuiabá is undergoing continues to undergo various urban revitalization and infrastructure development projects. Initial efforts focused on community and cultural sites, including the allocation of R$ 185,000 for the Parque Residencial Community Center and the completion of R$ 4.2 million in paving and drainage works in Jardim Presidente II. Additionally, the city is restoring the Museu da Caixa d’Água Velha through partnerships involving the State Secretariat for the Environment and the Fundação Nova Chance. Following these community improvements, the Municipal Council for Strategic Development approved neighborhood impact studies for two new residential complexes, ‘Chapada Primavera’ and ‘Chapada dos Nobres’, in Jardim Comodoro. Developed by MRV, these projects will consist of approximately nine towers totaling 792 housing units. As part of mitigation measures, the developer is slated to fund over R$ 2.6 million for local infrastructure, including a 550-meter rainwater drainage network to address erosion, asphalt paving, and the expansion of water and sewage networks. Construction is expected to run through 2028. Further infrastructure expansion is being managed by the Government of Mato Grosso. The state has opened bidding processes for paving, drainage, and signaling projects in the Parque Cuiabá and São Sebastião neighborhoods, representing a combined investment of R$ 12.6 million. Specifically, the Parque Cuiabá project is valued at R$ 3.7 million for approximately one kilometer of roads, while the São Sebastião project is budgeted at R$ 8.8 million. Additionally, a R$ 3.69 million state-funded concrete bridge over Córrego do Moinho is 83% complete. Through the State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (Sinfra-MT), the government is overseeing urban paving works across 13 neighborhoods in Cuiabá, totaling over R$ 71 million in investments. Recent developments have introduced potential fiscal challenges to these regional investments.
