The municipal and state governments of Ciudad Juárez have initiated various urban improvement programs. In early September, the Juárez Municipal Government launched the seventh edition of the ‘Juárez Amanece Limpio’ program, a cleaning campaign to rehabilitate public spaces. Under the leadership of Mayor Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel, the ‘Juárez Amanece Limpio’ initiative has expanded to target 110 neighborhoods, with over 70 public spaces already addressed. Recent operations in sectors such as Senderos de San Isidro, Urbi Villa, and Lomas del Desierto involve municipal departments, the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), local businesses, and residents to recover parks, dikes, and community areas. Simultaneously, the Chihuahua state government has launched the ‘En tu Colonia Cuenta Conmigo’ road repaving program. Targeting 37 neighborhoods to improve urban mobility, the project began in the Infonavit San Lorenzo sector with work on Canal de Corinto street. The first phase involves 10 avenues covering approximately 60,000 square meters, with a year-end goal of repaving between 200,000 and 300,000 square meters. This initiative is part of a broader infrastructure investment exceeding 2.5 billion pesos, which also includes the construction of six bridges, underpasses, and water and sanitation works. These efforts will be supplemented by ongoing pothole repair, park rehabilitation, and support for local schools.
