Michoacán Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla has outlined several large-scale infrastructure and social investments for the Uruapan region. Initial reports highlighted a planned 3 billion peso investment for the 25-kilometer Libramiento Norte de Uruapan bypass, alongside achievements in public transport, such as the Uruapan cable car and the installation of security cameras on buses. Subsequent developments confirmed the completion of specific local projects, including the 14.2 million peso construction of five soccer fields for students and the nearly 50 million peso rehabilitation of Boulevard Industrial. The latter project, which includes 800 meters of roadway and a 1.27-kilometer cycle path, is intended to benefit over 31,000 people. Governor Bedolla has since officially inaugurated the renovated Boulevard Industrial, noting its features such as hydraulic concrete, bike lanes, and improved sidewalks. The five FIFA-standard soccer fields inaugurated by the Governor are part of the ‘Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia Plan’ to support student sports and community development. Under this broader state initiative, schools are also integrating traditional games to foster social cohesion. Economic and regional initiatives have also expanded. In Uruapan, a National Employment Fair saw 25 companies, including avocado packing firms, offer 385 job vacancies. Similar employment efforts have been noted in Zamora, while other regional developments include the delivery of 36 tons of cement for sugarcane infrastructure in Los Reyes and the consideration of a passenger train project in Villa de Reyes to improve labor mobility.
