Developments in U.S. financial infrastructure have focused on the expansion of digital asset and tokenization capabilities. RQD Clearing secured $74 million in growth investment to expand its digital asset custody and tokenized market infrastructure across North America, Asia, and the Middle East. The firm intends to develop products for holding blockchain-based assets for financial institutions. Following this, The Clearing House selected Quant to provide the interoperability and transaction-management layer for its ‘On-Chain Money Initiative’. This project aims to integrate tokenized deposits into existing U.S. payment rails, such as Real-Time Payments (RTP) and CHIPS, to support corporate treasury and cross-border payments. Unlike public stablecoins, these tokenized deposits will remain legal obligations of the issuing banks, maintaining existing regulatory frameworks while introducing blockchain-based efficiencies such as automated, condition-based payments. Financial institutions are expected to access this network in the first half of 2027. Following the selection of Quant, the Quant (QNT) token experienced significant market activity, rising from approximately $70 toward the $100 level.
