US migrant enforcement and demographic shifts

The landscape of undocumented migration in the United States is undergoing significant shifts in both demographics and enforcement. Enforcement actions have intensified under the second Trump administration, with migrant detentions reaching a record high of approximately 50,000 arrests in July. This surge in arrests is linked to increased recruitment funding and decentralized operations.

Additionally, deportation strategies for Mexican nationals have shifted toward long-distance repatriation. Rather than returning individuals to border cities like Ciudad Juárez, the majority of deportees are being flown to southern Mexican states such as Yucatán, Tabasco, and Chiapas.
