United States officials and Polish defense authorities have begun coordinating the establishment of permanent U.S. military bases in Poland. While the a specific location has not been officially confirmed, Trump indicated it would be announced ‘very soon.’ Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Poland is prepared to host these forces, estimating hosting costs between 15 and 17 billion zlotys. Reports suggest that Poznań and Powidz are among the primary locations under consideration. The final decision is expected to be announced “very soon,” follow a Pentagon review of military presence in Europe, slated for completion later this year, as the initiative is intended seeks to bolster security shift from a rotational troop model to a more permanent strategic deterrent on NATO’s eastern flank.
