US street prostitution queries still mixed with drug ads

Overview

The Arizona State University Center for Problem‑Oriented Policing continued its July 2026 outreach on street‑level sex work, issuing documents that repeatedly asked how prostitutes and clients negotiate transactions, the various forms of street prostitution—including gay and transgender encounters—and the role of pimps and drug sales. Each release was paired with unrelated pharmaceutical advertisements for prescription medicines, weight‑loss products, migraine treatments and other drugs, offering no concrete policy proposals.

On July 26 the Center posted two items titled “Sp cq street prostitutes” and “Sp cq police community members.” Both pieces raised questions about the different configurations of street prostitution and solicited police department input on the level of concern, yet the body of each post was dominated by low‑price promotional material for the drugs Frumil, Clarina and other pharmaceuticals.

A further release on the same day explicitly asked police agencies about their current policies toward street prostitution, describing the range of female, male, homosexual and transgender arrangements and requesting feedback on departmental concerns. No policy changes or official statements were reported, underscoring the Center’s continued focus on data collection rather than actionable guidance.

Another July 26 article examined how street prostitutes and clients negotiate sexual transactions, but interspersed the discussion with detailed advertising for prescription drugs such as bupropion and dilantin, including pricing and shipping information. As with the earlier items, the piece did not present any new policy recommendations or legal actions.
