Overview

Uganda’s delegation to the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York has been significantly reduced to five members following the denial of US entry visas for several senior government officials. The small group is led by Vice President Jessica Alupo.

While Uganda declared its Ebola outbreak over on July 28, the US Department of State and the CDC have maintained health-related travel restrictions. A CDC order issued on September 11 continued to restrict certain foreign nationals who were recently present in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, or South Sudan.
