The United States Postal Service has released new stamps celebrating diverse cultural and religious traditions. On September 27, 2026, the agency unveiled a new Kwanzaa stamp at the 111th annual conference of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Norfolk Postmaster Matthew Toman described the design as an “affirmation of African American culture.” Following this, on September 29, 2026, the USPS released its ninth Hanukkah stamp. The design features a digital illustration of a dreidel surrounded by flowers. A first-day-of-issue ceremony was held at Touro Synagogue in New Orleans, where USPS Deputy General Counsel Carrie Rieger Brownlie noted the importance of “celebrating cultural traditions and religious freedom.” On October 22, 2026, the USPS unveiled its 2026 Diwali Forever stamp, the second such issue following the agency’s first release in 2016. The stamp features an intricate rangoli pattern created by Houston-based artist Sangita Bhutada. The design was based on an eight-foot-diameter rangoli utilizing vibrant colors including blue, orange, green, red, and white. The unveiling occurred at the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., where Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra described the collaboration as an effort “long in the making.”
