The wave of scheduled and weather‑related power interruptions continued into late July. July and early August. On 31 July the Dominican Republic’s transmission operator (ETED) performed maintenance on two 69 kV lines, temporarily cutting electricity to dozens of communities in the Monseñor Nouel and El Piña provinces, while temporary circuits in Santo Domingo Este adjusted medium‑voltage networks. LUMA Energy’s planned work affected 14 municipalities in Puerto Rico, with outages lasting up to 12 hours.
