Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been highlighting various spiritual sites within the state to promote their religious and natural significance. Initial focus was placed on the Sam Devta Temple in the Almora district, located within the Daruk forest. The site is recognized for its connection to Lord Shiva and its dense cedar forests. Following this, the Chief Minister drew attention to the Manokamna Siddha Hanuman Temple in Rishikesh, a site situated along the Ganges known for its association with Guru Gorakhnath and its reputation as a place where wishes are fulfilled. More recently, the Chief Minister highlighted the Dhyan Badri Temple in Pandukeshwar, located between Joshimath and Badrinath. As one of the sacred Panch Badri temples, the site is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is represented by a four-armed black stone idol in a meditative Padmasana posture. Dhami shared footage of the temple to encourage pilgrimage, noting that the deity’s meditative form offers spiritual peace. Mythological traditions suggest the site is where King Pandu performed penance, and where Urvarishi attained Lord Vishnu through meditation in the Urgam Valley.
