Valencia has announced a series of cultural and historical events for late 2026. The Moros y Cristianos festivities, organized by the Federació Valenciana de Moros i Cristians, are scheduled to begin on September 25, 2026, to celebrate the October 9th Community Day. This program includes parades, music, gunpowder displays, and a Medieval Market in the Turia Gardens from October 2 to October 13. In conjunction with these celebrations, a historical reenactment titled ‘Un campamento de historia viva’ will take place at Parc Central on October 3 and 4. Organized by the Valencia City Council and the Valencia Provincial Council, the event commemorates the anniversary of the death of King Jaume I. The camp aims to recreate 13th-century life within the Crown of Aragon through historical reconstructions, military training displays, and workshops covering medieval science and social roles. Commemorations regarding Jaume I extend beyond Valencia city. In Gandia, the 750th anniversary of the monarch’s death is being marked with a program of lectures, guided tours, and music. Additionally, l’Eliana is hosting activities for the October 9th Valencian Community Day, including traditional games, music, and a cycling event.
