Under creative director Alessandro Michele, Valentino has introduced new collections for the 2027 seasons. For the Fall/Winter 2027 collection, the house reimagined its iconic Rockstud Spike Bag. The updated design features an elongated horizontal silhouette available in goatskin leather or suede. While maintaining classic elements like the turn-lock closure and platinum-finish studs, the update includes decorative versions such as black nappa leather with floral and butterfly embroidery, as well as a harlequin-inspired patchwork design. For the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, presented in Paris under the theme ‘Antibiblioteca’, Michele moved toward a maximalist aesthetic. Inspired by Umberto Eco’s concept of the ‘antilibrary’—the idea that unread books represent untapped cognitive potential—the collection utilized vibrant colors, voluminous bows, and 1980s-inspired excess, featuring textures such as colorful lace, dimensional fabric flowers, and feathered trims. The Spring/Summer 2027 show took place at the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève, where guests were seated at long wooden tables with antique-style green reading lamps and were asked to bring a favorite book. These books were later donated to public libraries in Paris and other cities through ‘Bibliothèques Sans Frontières’. The 80-look presentation featured a palette of hot pink, cobalt blue, and lemon yellow, incorporating items such as silk corsets, opera gloves, belted leather blazers, and baseball ~~caps.~~ caps emblazoned with ‘Villain Teen’. Notable attendees included ~~Zoey Deutch and~~ Cynthia Erivo, Alexander Skarsgård, Samara ~~Weaving.~~ Weaving, and stylist Law Roach.
