In Bivongi, Calabria, Salvatore Cirillo, President of the Calabria Regional Council, reiterated his condemnation of the placement of nails on the road leading to the Mercato della Badia. He described the incident as a ‘cowardly act’ that endangered motorists and specifically targeted a significant cultural event. Other reported issues include the removal of offensive graffiti in Terracina and ongoing concerns regarding illegal waste dumping and river pollution in Carsoli. Separate from the vandalism reports, several fatal and violent incidents occurred across the country, including a pedestrian fatality in Ostia, a workplace accident in Cuneo, a collision between a car and a tractor near Santa Croce Camerina, and an alleged assault involving an air-compressed weapon in Molini di Triora. In a recent development on the A29 Palermo-Trapani motorway, a 50-year-old man, identified as Enzo Veltri Barraco Alestra, was found dead under the Binuara viaduct near the Fulgatore junction. State Highway Police discovered a damaged red Peugeot 206 parked on the roadway. Investigations suggest the victim likely fell from the viaduct following a collision with another vehicle that fled the scene. The Trapani Public Prosecutor's Office is currently reviewing surveillance footage and forensic traces to identify the driver of the second vehicle.
